West Valley Medical Group welcomes infectious disease specialist
Consultations available at Caldwell clinic
CALDWELL, Idaho – The Canyon County community now has access to an infectious disease specialist close to home.
Michaela Schulte, MD, is available for in-patient infectious disease consultations at West Valley Medical Center and infectious disease outpatient appointments at West Valley Medical Group – Caldwell. West Valley Medical Group, which is affiliated with West Valley Medical Center, encompasses clinics in Caldwell, Nampa, Middleton, Parma, New Plymouth and Wilder.
Dr. Schulte also is a hospitalist for APOGEE Physicians at West Valley Medical Center. She is board-certified in internal medicine and infectious disease.
Dr. Schulte received her medical degree from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, in 2000. She went on to work in Germany and in the United Kingdom in internal medicine before entering an internal medicine residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia in 2003.
She was selected to serve as a chief resident in the Department of Medicine from 2006 to 2007 and completed a two-year fellowship in infectious disease from 2007 to 2009, also at Albert Einstein Medical Center.
After joining the APOGEE Medical Group in 2009, Dr. Schulte moved to Idaho. She initially worked at Mercy Medical Center as a hospitalist until joining the APOGEE hospitalist service at West Valley Medical Center in 2010.
