A Message From Our Chief Nursing Officer

We Are West Valley ―And We Care

I am honored to be the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at West Valley Medical Center. If you haven't walked through the doors or received services at West Valley in the past couple of years, please make an effort to do so. Like a caterpillar, WVMC has transformed itself into a beautiful butterfly ― a beautiful facility that demonstrates pride in who we are and what we stand for.

Just as we are proud of our facility, we also are proud of who we are and the excellent care we provide.  The “essence” of that is demonstrated every day, as we interact with the patients who have placed their trust in us to provide their care. Compassion, quality and professionalism are evident as we partner with our patients to enhance their experience on their road to recovery.

There is tremendous power in Professional Nursing Practice. Understanding power and learning how to use it is critical if nurses are to shape their practice and work environment. Our goal, individually and collectively, is to elevate the profession of nursing at West Valley like no other hospital by coming together as professionals and being engaged in improving our practice through education, process improvement and nursing research. We have implemented the WVMC Professional Practice Program that facilitates our journey to excellence. 

Nursing is just one piece of what West Valley has to offer. We have excellent staff in all areas, excellent physicians (99 percent Board-certified) and wonderful volunteers. I have witnessed a tremendous sense of pride, innovation and teamwork here.

Relationships are the foundation of everything we do. We have a strong commitment to build trusting relationships among our care providers, physicians, and patients and their families.   This is demonstrated by staff and our partners in exemplifying our customer service program, which is the foundation of our caring model, “We are West Valley and We Care.”
