West Valley Medical Center ranked in the top 10 percent of U.S. hospitals for treatment of heart failure, heart attack and surgical care improvement in the second quarter of 2009, according to Hospital Compare, a quality tool provided by Medicare.

Additionally, Hospital Compare recently reported West Valley Medical Center performs better than the U.S. national rate in reducing hospital readmissions for pneumonia patients after discharge.

West Valley Medical Center recently received the Get With The Guidelines-Heart Failure Silver Performance Achievement Award from the American Heart Association, signifying 85 percent compliance with American Heart Association/American College of Cardiology core standard levels of care.
