West Valley Medical Center now offers expanded behavioral health services with the addition of the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). PHP is an outpatient service considered to be a part of the continuum of care for persons who struggle with chronic mental illness, repeated hospitalizations due to mental health symptoms interfering with daily responsibilities, and overall functioning in the community independently. The program also provides services for dual-diagnosis and co-occurring disorders to address chemical dependency issues.
Patients admitted to PHP do not require 24 hours of supervision as provided in and the inpatient setting, must not be in imminent danger to themselves or others, or are experiencing severe disruption in multiple areas of daily life as a result of their disorder and the degree of impairment will be severe enough to require a multidisciplinary intensive, structured program.
