Caldwell, ID — West Valley Medical Center and the Caldwell Family YMCA are proud to present the 13th Annual West Valley 5K/10K on Saturday, April 27, at West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell.
Caldwell’s own Mayor Garret Nancolas will fire the starting gun. The course will take participants through historic downtown Caldwell, The College of Idaho campus, Fairview Golf Course and the scenic Indian Creek area. The event wraps up with a post-race potato party sponsored by Simplot. During the party, prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place finishers in the competitive men’s, women’s, boys’, and girls’ 10K and 5K divisions, as well as to the first place finisher in the wheelchair division. All kids 12 and under who participate will receive a medal.
This annual event, which raises funds for the Caldwell Family YMCA Health and Wellness programs, has seen tremendous growth in recent years. In 2018, 450 participants and over 45 local businesses raised more than $17-thousand for this invaluable community resource.
"This event is incredibly important because it provides the opportunity for additional wellness services for local residents. We are committed to the care and improvement of human life at West Valley, and that extends far beyond our physical location. We are focused on giving back to the communities we serve," said Betsy Hunsicker, chief executive officer of West Valley Medical Center.
