Auxiliary announces 2025 scholarship recipients

Four local students have been announced as the recipients of West Valley Medical Center's Auxiliary scholarships.

West Valley Medical Center Auxiliary has announced the recipients of this year's Auxiliary Scholarships totaling $6,000. The local students listed below received scholarships to help cover the costs of their education in the medical field.

  • Abi Perdomo received $1,500. She will graduate from Eagle High School and attend Boise State University this fall.
  • Lilly Moody received $1,500. She will graduate from Rocky Mountain High School and attend Idaho State University this fall.
  • Amy Briseno received $1,500. She is currently attending Capella University and is employed at West Valley Medical Center.
  • Brenton Holmes received $1,500. He is currently attending College of Western Idaho and is employed at West Valley Medical Center.

Funds for these scholarships are raised through sales and fundraisers at the West Valley Medical Center Gift Shop. The Auxiliary Scholarship offers two or more scholarship awards to students enrolled in healthcare degree programs, such as nursing, medical technology (lab), medical records, radiology/imaging, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, etc.

The Auxiliary is a not-for-profit entity. It has a Board of Directors that is responsible for the day-to-day operations. The board provides the hospital with an organization that can receive donations. Through the operation of the Gift Shop, donations and fundraisers, the Auxiliary provides: Hospital equipment, community projects and the Pink Angel Cancer Project.
