Hospital Administrator Receives ACHE Regent's Award

Sun Valley, ID — Edith Irving, RN, MS, CNAA BC, FACHE, Chief Nursing Officer, West Valley Medical Center, Caldwell, Idah o received the American College of Healthcare Executives Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award Monday, October 8th at the Idaho Hospital Association Annual Meeting in Sun Valley, Idaho.

The award was bestowed on Irving by Sandee Moore, ACHE’s Regent for Idaho and Chief Operating Officer, Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, Idaho Falls, ID. The Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award recognizes ACHE members who are experienced in the field and have made significant contributions to the advancement of healthcare management excellence and the achievement of ACHE’s goals.

Members are evaluated on leadership ability; innovative and creative management; executive capability in developing their own organization and promoting its growth and stature in the community; contributions to the development of others in the healthcare profession; leadership in local, state or provincial hospital and health association activities; participation in civic/community activities and projects; participation in ACHE activities; and interest in assisting ACHE in achieving its objectives.

Irving has served as Chief Nursing Officer since 1998, serving at West Valley Medical Center for two years, then at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for almost a decade before returning to West Valley Medical Center.

Irving has demonstrated commitment to professional excellence and robust industry involvement as a member of the following organizations:

  • Nurse Leaders of Idaho
  • Idaho Commission on Nursing and Nursing Education: chair-elect

Irving received her bachelor’s degree from University of Oregon Health Sciences and her master’s degree in Nursing Administration from Idaho State University.
