West Valley Medical Center names Nicholas Manning as CEO

Nicholas Manning, an accomplished healthcare executive with deep roots in Idaho, has been appointed chief executive officer of West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell, Idaho. Manning is well acquainted with the healthcare landscape in the Gem State, having previously served as chief operating officer at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC), West Valley’s sister facility.

‌“I’m thrilled to continue serving Idahoans and giving back to this great state,” said Manning. “West Valley has a tremendous legacy in Canyon County, and I look forward to building upon that as we explore future opportunities for our colleagues, patients, and this community.”

‌Manning has been a leader inside HCA Healthcare’s Mountain Division for 13 years and has a proven track record of operational excellence. At EIRMC, he oversaw day-to-day operations at one of the organization’s largest and most complex facilities, managing multiple service lines, including the Behavioral Health Center, surgical services, cardiovascular services, medical imaging, and oncology.

‌Prior to his time at EIRMC, Manning held roles at the Mountain Division office and at Ogden Regional Medical Center, as well as in other health systems. His extensive experience at major hospitals, including the 304-bed EIRMC and 528-bed Rochester General Hospital, equips him to lead the team of more than 500 colleagues at West Valley, effectively.

‌“Nick brings considerable experience from his leadership and operational roles within our network and his 16 total years as a healthcare administrator,” said Evan Ray, president of HCA Healthcare’s Mountain Division, which supports the care delivered in the Caldwell facility and at sister sites in Idaho, Utah and Alaska. “He is committed to our mission of improving lives, and I look forward to working with him to bring West Valley’s high-quality care to more Idahoans.”

‌Manning holds an MBA with an emphasis in healthcare management from the University of Scranton and a Bachelor’s degree in Health Administrative Services from Weber State University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).

‌West Valley Medical Center is currently undergoing a significant multi-million-dollar renovation of patient care areas, lobbies, and hallways. The hospital will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the coming months to showcase the updates to the community. With 150 beds, West Valley maintains a 5-star rating from CMS and was recently recognized as the number one medium-sized hospital by PINC AI and Fortune 500 magazine, based on multiple factors including patient quality and safety scores.
