West Valley Medical Center announces the appointment of Dr. Parker Fillmore as the new Trauma Medical Director.
Dr. Parker Fillmore, M.D., M.P.H, FACS, brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership and Trauma expertise to West Valley’s Trauma Program.
Dr. Fillmore previously served as the Trauma Medical Director at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. He completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University in Provo and earned his medical and Master of Public Health degrees from the University of Arizona in Tucson. Dr. Fillmore's post-graduate training includes a general surgery residency at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Las Vegas, along with fellowship training in surgical critical care and burn/wound and plastic reconstruction at the University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Fillmore holds various leadership roles, serving in the Idaho Air National Guard as well as participating on the state Time Sensitive Emergency Council as Chair for Region 3.
West Valley's trauma program was officially launched in January 2024. Dr. Fillmore is enthusiastic about collaborating with his colleagues and the community to build on the strong foundation established by the hospital.

West Valley earned a Level III trauma designation from the State of Idaho’s Time Sensitive Emergencies (TSE) Council. As a Level III trauma center, West Valley is dedicated to upholding rigorous standards in patient care, experience, and satisfaction.
