West Valley Medical Center Offers New Outpatient Behavioral Health Services to Community
Caldwell, ID – West Valley Medical Center is pleased to announce the expansion of its behavioral health services with the addition of a new program called Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). PHP is an outpatient service considered to be a part of the continuum of care for persons who struggle with chronic mental illness, repeated hospitalizations due to mental health symptoms interfering with daily responsibilities, and overall functioning in the community independently. The program also provides services for dual-diagnosis and co-occurring disorders to address chemical dependency issues.
Patients admitted to PHP do not require 24 hours of supervision as provided in and the inpatient setting, must not be in imminent danger to themselves or others, or are experiencing severe disruption in multiple areas of daily life as a result of their disorder and the degree of impairment will be severe enough to require a multidisciplinary intensive, structured program.
Services provided at the facility, located at 229 East Logan Street in Caldwell, include:
- Initial Nursing Assessment
- Psychosocial Assessment
- Activity Therapy Assessment
- Individual Therapy
- Individual Treatment Plan
- Group Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Drugs and Biologicals
- Medication Management
- Individualized Activity Therapies (as part of the PHP schedule)
- Diagnostic Services Discharge Planning/Coordination Client Safety Plan
“As a healthcare facility, we are always striving to address outstanding needs in our community. Our inpatient behavioral services unit is almost always at capacity; this outpatient program will be another option for treating people in need,” commented Glenda Nelson, RN, director of behavioral services at West Valley Medical Center.
The public is invited to attend a ribbon cutting on Wednesday, November 6 at the Partial Hospitalization Building, 229 East Logan Street at 4PM. A reception will follow.
