Roger Winslow, Chief Operating Officer

I am pleased to announce our new COO, Roger Winslow, will be joining West Valley on November 5th. Roger comes to us from Mountain View Hospital a 407-bed acute-care facility in Las Vegas, Nevada, which is part of the HCA network of hospitals. He served as Associate Administrator where he has worked on many operational and strategic initiatives, such as ED throughput, a new freestanding ED project, and oncology program development. Prior to that, Roger served as the Director of Pharmacy at Mountain View.

Originally from the Kaysville, UT area, he graduated from the University of Utah with a Masters of Pharmacy Administration. He completed his Doctor of Pharmacy from the Roseman University of Health Sciences in Las Vegas. Roger and his wife Annie have been married for 15 years, and are the proud parents of two boys and two girls. Roger enjoys being with his family, running, swimming, weight lifting, the outdoors, playing sports, and following BYU football.

I am looking forward to having Roger join our team and I am confident that his clinical background combined with his experience in operations and service line development will make him a tremendous asset to West Valley. Roger and his wife, Annie, and their four children are excited to make our community their new home.

Central Valley Plaza

Recently you may have seen some exciting stories about HCA expansion in the Treasure Valley. In some cases, the stories overstated HCA’s involvement in the development; however, it is true that HCA is looking to expand in the area. We are collaborating with BVA – a development firm led by Tommy Ahlquist who was formerly with Gardner Companies. BVA is working with Brighton Companies to develop a parcel of land at the intersection of Highway 16 and Highway 20/26 to be used for medical, retail, office and potentially assisted living. Part of that development is a medical office building. HCA/West Valley is planning an Ambulatory Surgery Center in that office building and we are currently working with physician partners to make that venture a success. Additionally, we feel that location is an ideal place for a freestanding emergency room; we are currently pursuing that project and the associated funding. Any additional developments such as a full-service hospital or other services are much further down the road and not a part of current planning. All in all, the location has tremendous growth potential and we are excited to be a part of this project.
