We are proud to donate the proceeds from this event to our friends at the Caldwell Family YMCA. So many of our medical staff made an impact on this event through their participation and sponsorships. Our sponsors of the West Valley 5K/10K contributed over $17,500... Thank you!

Indian Creek Musical Art Park – Revealed April 30
Located in Caldwell’s city center, the musical art park consists of sculptural and interactive outdoor percussion instruments by Freenotes Harmony Park, built to maintain soothing tones that blend subtly into the environment, encouraging participants of all ages and abilities to create beautiful sensory experiences.
The Indian Creek Musical Art Park is an addition to the revitalization of downtown Caldwell, made possible by a generous grant from Together Treasure Valley, a team of community-minded companies that support and fund meaningful projects that enhance and have lasting impact in the Treasure Valley.
The aesthetics of the park landscape honor local geological features, with the incorporation of boulders recovered from Indian Creek to create the retaining wall and melon gravel from Celebration Park in Kuna that were donated and relocated as park accents. The retaining wall, designed by Christopher Hawkins of The Land Group, LLC, was installed as an Eagle Scout Project by local scout, Gabriel Babbel, and assisted by members of Scout Troop #520.
To literally top things off, a 16 ft., metal sculpture beautifully overlooks the park location. Danny Jones, artist and owner of Original Ironworks, LLC, was selected to create the art piece, inspired by Indian Creek and elements of local architecture and materials incorporated in the rich history of Caldwell and surrounding communities.
The Indian Creek Musical Art Park was created by an additional grant from Idaho Commission on the Arts and donations from the City of Caldwell, Destination Caldwell and Pacific Steel.
New Businesses Coming to Downtown Caldwell
Fireside Mallow is opening their first storefront in downtown Caldwell in Spring 2018. Fireside Mallow™ was born out of a search for a better marshmallow, a less commercialized craft style mallow to complete the perfect S’more. Batch after batch was created and tested until each recipe was just perfect. Their testing proved that single batch, hand cut marshmallows were nothing like the chalky white puffs that are used roasting over a campfire. One taste and you will understand that a marshmallow can be more than you imagine.
Shi Sushi Bar is coming to Main St. in downtown Caldwell this Spring. This sushi bar and lounge will feature sushi and rice and noodle bowls, in addition to a variety of dinner dishes. Construction will begin in April.
The Bird Stop will reopen this Spring featuring a full-service restaurant and 30 choices of drinks on tap! This reinvented business model will delight the community for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
Caldwell Reel Theater is under full construction and is anticipating (weather permitting) a May/June 2018 opening. This premium 11 screen movie theater in downtown Caldwell will showcase the latest movie releases in the country. They will be offering unprecedented state of the art projection, sound systems, and luxury seating options not found anywhere else in the Treasure Valley.
Flying M Coffeeshop will feature bakery, locally roasted coffee, art, and a small gift shop. They are planning a May 2018 opening.

How you can help…
We are in a culture that depends so much on online reviews when choosing a healthcare facility. Encourage those you interact with to share their positive patient experiences by writing an online review on Facebook, Google or Yelp. Asking your patients to share their stories online as it lets others know what to expect from us as a healthcare provider.
You can also become a part of our online community! It speaks volumes to have our medical staff share our stories on social media with their friends and family.

Physician Feedback (Google, Facebook, Yelp) - Q1
- I love Dr. Allen! Great doctor and easy to talk to. We are lucky to have him in our community!
- Very impressed with Dr. Undesser and his professional staff. I switched Cardiologist and he was the best choice.. ever! :) Thank you!!
- Proud to say Dr. Koga is one of our volunteer Providers at Canyon Canyon County Community Clinic. He definitely has a heart for his patients! Thank you for your service, Dr Koga!
- My shoulder physician uses WVMedical and so went there to have shoulder surgery. I have been in St. Als, St Lukes many times and so was a little worried about using a facility I was not familiar with .... I was very pleasantly surprised .... especially with my night nurse Elaine. She was the best nurse I have ever had care for me. She was right on top of everything and checked on me regularly .... explained what she was doing. Great nurse ... and the facility was great too ... it may seem like a small thing but they had tempurpedic mattresses on the beds. I was only there one night but have had to spend multiple nights in other hospitals where the hospital beds were actually painful to sleep on. Every time I needed assistance and called... someone came right in ... which was NOT my experience at the "big" places. Don't want to forget to mention the pre-op people who were great, and of course my Doc. Michael Daines and PA Bryce… who also were so good at explaining every step and being sure I was attended to well. A big THANK YOU to West Valley Medical Center.
- On Monday the 26th of February I went into West valley Medical Center to have knee revision performed. I did not expect what awaited me. I was pleasantly greeted at the door and immediately helped with admission papers. It did not take long before I was being prepped and informed of what was to take place. All my questions were answered with ease and the atmosphere was very relaxing. After the operation recovery went very well. I was in very good hands. I waited for nothing. I want to thank Amanda, Lilly, Kim my night nurse, and Aaron who all performed beyond expectation. Desiree, the lead nurse, I want to give a special thanks for bringing such cheer and knowledge to the room. Kelly best of luck with the career change. Dr. Nicola you are the best. Thanks for a second chance at walking.
- My name is Sharyn Derrick, nickname Sherry. I was in West Valley Medical Center on Feb. 19, 2018 for the first time. I give the hospital and the entire staff a 10. I am in my 70s and I have had over 20 surgeries, most of them back and spine surgeries. West Valley Medical Center is the very best hospital I have ever been in. Also, I am very, very particular. I was on the 3rd floor and I received excellent care. All the nurses were fantastic especially Desiree. Also, Amanda, RN, Kimberly, RN, Lilly, CNA, were wonderful, and the night CNA was very helpful. My physical therapist was very good and my occupational therapist Nancy was fantastic and spent 45 minutes with my husband and me. She explained everything I needed to do and everything I should not do when I got home. My doctor, Richard Manos, who does complex sine surgery, is the best in Idaho. I should know because I've had close to 10 surgeries on my cervical spine, thoracic spine, and lower lumbar spine. I've had surgery with doctors in Colorado, Texas, and Idaho. They were good doctors, but Dr. Manos with the Spine Institute in Meridian and an office in Caldwell. If I need another spine surgery, I will have a choice of any hospital in the area and I will definitely choose West Valley Medical Center. They are a smaller hospital and they give you better care than a larger hospital, in my opinion. Also, they treat you as if you were the only patient on the floor. They treated me with respect and dignity. Any one who knows me will tell you I speak my mind and with complete honesty. When my nuse Desiree discharged me with Kelly, SRN, they spent 45 minutes going over everything. What wad done to me, what medications were given to me, what medications I should take at home, and the new medications ordered for me by my doctor. All the things I should do, all the phone numbers I would need. They also phoned my doctors office to change my 2-week post-op appointment per the doctors orders. The truth is I do not use the computer, but today I did because this is important to shout from the roof. I heard that West Valley was not the best 10 years ago, but I can honestly tell you they are fantastic now. I do not like to say anything bad about another hospital, but I had spinal surgery at Saint Al's in Boise in 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2017. The first two surgeries I felt the hospital was very good, but the last two surgeries in in 2015 and 2017 I was very disappointed. I did have a good doctor, but he no longer does complex surgeries. I can not, in all honesty, recommend Saint Al's Boise. I can recommend Saint Al's Nampa for other things like the emergency room is very good. I wrote all of this to tell my experience. I am a very expressive person. I would give you my phone number but I have to be very careful. God bless you.
- I suffered through a trimalleolar (3 broken bones) fracture of my left ankle. After St. Luke's fixed the dislocation of my ankle, they referred me to an orthopedic surgeon, that did not have time to see me. Neither did several others that I called, right before Thanksgiving. Two of my friends highly recommended Dr. Wolf to me. I called, and he was able to get me in the following day! During the visit, he focused on what needed to happen to fix the three broken bones in my ankle, which is what I wanted to hear. He arranged for me to have surgery at West Valley Medical Center the very next day! The staff at West Valley Medical Center, including Dr. Fox, the anesthesiologist, and Dr. Wolf did an excellent job! The staff processed me through quickly, and the surgeon receptionist put me at ease about my surgery and smiled as I was wheeled in. All of the nurses were professional and explained things well, putting me at ease. Dr. Fox made excellent recommendations to me, about anesthesia, listened to me, and I had no nausea and vomiting post surgery! Dr. Wolf inserted a plate, 12 screws, and a tightrope! I am now three months post surgery and was able to walk up & down the hills of downtown Seattle for four days & nights sightseeing, & my ankle is solid! During my healing time, Dr. Wolf was very accessible to me by email, phone calls and office visits. My husband emailed him the night of surgery with a question, and he called him back within the hour! On another occasion I emailed him with some pain, and he called in an Rx and emailed me back. Further, his office manager went out of her way to process my paperwork for my leave of absence at work! I would highly recommend West Valley Medical Center, due to the cleanliness, professionalism and compassion! I knew I was in good hands, and was made to feel at ease!
- My visit WVMC WAS nothing less than the best medical center experience I have ever had, Dr. Smith and his entire staff also the hospital staff were all top shelf. My group of ladies Desiree RN Lilly CNA Angela RN Leah CNA. These are the names I was able to get, also the hospital kitchen is outstanding. Thanks all of you for making something I didn't want to do into something that I am glad I had done. I only wish I was better at writing such things out. Thanks again. LT Morris.
- Robinson delivered my first. He was very calm and serious (which I loved about him) he is my obgyn for my second (currently due May) and I like how straight forward he is. He listens very well and is an amazing obgyn. I had Colwell as my obgyn for my first and he was also awesome. Thank you Dr. Robinson for being an AMAZING doctor and listening to my concerns as well as delivering my first child.
- I love Dr. Bitters! She is so kind and actually listens to your concerns. I never feel rushed with her. She's a wonderful doctor.
- I recently had spine surgery at West Valley Medical Center and was very impressed with the care I received from start to finish. Everyone I came into contact with was kind, helpful and very professional. A special thank you to Dr. Bradley, Desiree RN, Lilly CNA, Russ Beardsley my OR nurse, and Jim who handled anesthesia. All were fantastic in their care for me. It’s now 48 hours after surgery and with the exception of some slight discomfort at the wound site I feel Great!
- He is a very good doctor (Payvar) like the rest of them at W.V.H
