Daisy Award Winner
In the last newsletter, I introduced you to The DAISY award, a nationwide program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day. I am pleased to share Desiree Gallup from Med/Surg is our July Daisy award winner! DesireeлЊs sheer number of nominations was a clear sign that she is loved by our patients and her compassion and caring is felt far and wide. Our patients said things like, лЯShe did everything in her power to remind people to stay positive. She was very sincere in her concern for our dad. We felt she treated him as if could have been family.л лЯDesiree has so much energy. She has never down played my daughterлЊs pain or illness.л лЯAll of the nurses were fantastic, but Desiree was head and shoulders above the rest.л We celebrated Desiree by surprising her on the Med/Surg unit with the help of her colleagues.
