For questions about our hospital pharmacy, call (208) 459-4641 or ask your nurse to contact the pharmacy on your behalf.
Please remember to keep your medication list current and to bring it with you for any scheduled admissions. Any questions or concerns regarding medications can be answered during your visit. If you wish to speak to a member of the pharmacy staff, please ask your nurse to contact us. We want to ensure you fully understand the reason for your drug therapy and that you can and should be actively involved in the decision making process.
Please note that we do not provide prescription service to the public.
Advanced medication administration
The pharmacy uses the Pyxis Dispensing System. The technology extensively automates medication administration with a barcoding system that compares the physician’s prescription with the drug item and the wristband assigned to the patient. This process of medication administration dramatically reduces the possibility of medication errors.
Accurate information about your height, current weight and any known medication allergies must be present in your medical record to enable the pharmacist to make decisions about your medication therapy. It is very important to provide us with up-to-date information regarding the prescriptions and over-the-counter medications you may take at home.
Infusion therapy
Our infusion center serves patients who need fluids and/or medications administered intravenously or through injections. The infusion center is located on the first floor of West Valley’s Medical Office Building and provides high-quality infusion services in an outpatient setting.
A registered nurse coordinates, initiates and monitors each infusion and records the outcome of each treatment. Our pharmacy department works closely with the infusion center and referring physicians to ensure that accurate and individualized services are delivered to every patient.
Our infusion therapy services include:

- Antibiotic treatment
- Iron infusions
