West Valley Medical Center offers partial hospitalization program (PHP). PHP is an outpatient mental health service where clients attend Monday through Friday, for 4 hours per day, for an average of 6–8 weeks. It is medically supervised with comprehensive therapeutic and clinical services for clients.
Telehealth option: May be available based upon need.
For more information about our PHP services, please call (208) 453-4333.
The partial hospitalization program is primarily for individuals who are experiencing increased mental health symptoms, disturbances in behavior, or other conditions that negatively impact their ability to function in their daily lives. However, these individuals must not currently pose an immediate threat to themselves or others, and require more acute care such as the West Valley Medical Center inpatient mental health program.
PHP is a voluntary intensive group therapy program for adult patients who are 18 years old and older. This method of treatment may help if you have been hospitalized multiple times due to mental health symptoms interfering with daily responsibilities and your ability to function independently. Ultimately, the goal of PHP is to decrease the need for inpatient hospitalization by helping you learn the skills you need to cope with symptoms when they arise.
