You may have recently received at your home address a 2016 West Valley annual report titled, “Healthcare for Real Life.” Written specifically for our local community, this report highlights the incredible work being done by our providers and staff each day to ensure patient safety, quality, and outcomes. “Healthcare for Real Life” also puts a spotlight on our charitable contributions and economic investment in Caldwell.

2016 WVMC Community Report

Here are a few highlights from the report:

  • Safety is our No. 1 priority with every patient, every day. We’re very proud of our safety record and the awards we’ve received as a result, including a grade “A” on the latest Hospital Safety Score from The Leapfrog Group and the 2017 Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award.
  • Our commitment to quality means we never stop looking for ways to improve. Our accreditations in chest pain, atrial fibrillation, and heart failure are a testament to this commitment, as is the recognition our med-surg nursing staff recently received from HCA as one of the top 10% of units in the nation.
  • We’re dedicated to offering advanced care, closer to home. We’ve invested $23 million over the past few years in new spaces, services, and technology that enable local residents to get the healthcare they need right here in Canyon County.
  • West Valley providers and staff take their tradition of giving seriously, donating more than $100,000 to local charities and community organizations in 2016. Major initiatives include our annual West Valley 5K/10K – sponsored by many of our provider groups – which raises funds for the local YMCA, and the free mammograms offered to local women as part of the Caldwell Night Rodeo’s Power of Pink program.
  • We also invest significantly in our community by paying our fair share in taxes, paying our employees a livable wage, and providing charitable care to some of our most vulnerable friends and neighbors.
