What is QRS? лв Betsy Hunsicker, CEO
The week of May 2 we will have the HCA Quality Review System (QRS) Survey team here to assess how we are performing against our defined quality standards. They will be reviewing our compliance with CMS conditions of participation, licensure regulations, professional liability risk issues, high-priority Joint Commission areas and validation of clinical outcome measures. They will also be assessing how we are doing in the ongoing implementation and outcomes of our own HCA clinical strategies that address patient safety лв like medication diversion prevention, patient restraints, infant security, serious preventable adverse advents, time-outs and radiation safety.
We see QRS once every three years (roughly) and we always learn a great deal from these visits. Part of their survey will be looking at how we addressed findings from their last visit and after our last JCAHO survey. This will be great preparation for our Joint Commission survey coming up later this year (weлЊre thinking September-October timeframe лв we wonлЊt know until they arrive).
It is highly probably that you will see the two nurse surveyors here during that first week of May. They will be accompanied by the folks from our quality department or leadership team at all times. I appreciate your support and your willingness to entertain their questions and conversations, and I am confident West Valley will perform very well on this survey.
