Florencia giving a thumbs up to the West Valley ICU Staff
We recently cared for a woman in her 40's who, even in the face of COVID–19, maintained a positive attitude and was a bright light for our staff. Florencia was in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for nearly two weeks and intubated for five days. She had this to say about her fight (this testimonial has been translated from Spanish to English):
“I am grateful that I have survived COVID with the help of all the nurses and doctors at West Valley for my care and helping me get through this difficult time. Everyone here has been very kind and genuine. I thank God for the care that I have received and the ability to continue to praise God and spend time with my husband, three daughters, and two grandchildren.”
Florencia has lost two family members in Mexico to COVID-19. She is also unable to travel to see her mom in Mexico, who is battling cancer. She says it is tough to be away from family, but she is grateful for the care she received at West Valley.
“Our family has been in America for 20 years and am very fortunate to have great medical care and God by our side.”
Florencia is just one reminder to #MaskUp Idaho - for your loved ones, your family, your neighbors, essential workers, local businesses…for your community.
