Hospital Patient Stay

Making You More Comfortable

Patient Experience

Above all else, West Valley Medical Center is committed to the care and improvement of human life. In recognition of this commitment, we strive to deliver high-quality, cost effective healthcare to the Canyon County community we serve. We understand that high-quality is defined as compassionate caring, too.

If we can do anything to enhance your patient or family experience at our hospital, please contact our patient advocate support line at (208) 455-3957.

Dietary and Nutrition

West Valley Medical Center’s Nutrition Services Department is staffed with employees who are compassionate about the nutritional needs of all our patients and customers. Our staff has the expertise to meet the nutrition needs of all patients, including those requiring special diets or who are not able to take food by the mouth. Our dietitians are registered with the American Dietetic Association and licensed in the State of Idaho.

While in the hospital, patients are encouraged to select their own meals. Menus are offered daily with varied options to choose from. Staff members or volunteers are available to help patients who have difficulty filling out their menus. The Nutrition Services staff is happy to visit patients who have special dietary needs and/or requests.

Start times for patient meals are:

  • Breakfast: 7:30 a.m.
  • Lunch: 11:30 a.m.
  • Dinner: 5 p.m.

Food is always available for patients who are not able to eat during regular meal times. Nursing staff can help patients arrange special meal times. We also provide medical nutrition therapy to patients referred by their physicians or other health care providers. In addition to individual nutrition counseling, diabetes education classes are offered.

Cafeteria

West Valley Medical Center’s cafeteria is located on the first floor near the main entrance on the West end of the hospital. Hot meals are served Monday through Friday at:
